Description
This lithograph depicts a scene from John James Audubon’s The Birds of America, featuring a Brown Thrasher and Ferruginous Thrush defending their nest against a Black Snake. The image was created by Craig Chesek and published in London by the author between 1827 and 1838. The Rare Book Collection at the American Museum of Natural History houses over 14,000 rare materials, including field diaries, scrapbooks, and limited or autographed editions. The collection features richly illustrated and uniquely bound materials, as well as published and unpublished materials with special Museum association. This lithograph is part of the collection and is identified by the call number RF-111-Aa.
